Crossing Central Avenue

Crossing Central

Dear Editor,

I, too, would like to thank First Church of Nazarene (on lovely, picturesque, bench-free Central Avenue) for its field of little white crosses.  My first thought was that the miniature Flanders Fields was a reminder of all the people we killed during our precious-moment wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  But then I noticed the church’s gaudy (and not so picturesque) electronic billboard merrily flashing “We Stand With Israel.”  So maybe all those pro-life, popsicle-stick crosses proudly represent the thousands of Palestinians massacred in Gaza, shot down like fish in a proverbial barrel.

Interesting that the little white crosses only sprout just before elections.

Great comments. Of course they have no concern once birth occurs. They have no problem killing innocent live children.

  1. This was printed, under the inferior (to my thinking) title of “Crosses and elections” in the Sunday, October 26 edition of the Sentinel Record…
