Taking names…

…and wishing calamity on her unrepentant naysayers (who are legion), our new mayor speaks in this letter to the editor, titled “Thoughts on ‘tolerance’” (today’s Sentinel Record, page 8):

Dear editor:

In recent days, I have been reminded (due to the intolerance of those who beat the drum of “tolerance”) of two famous quotes.

The first by Marcus Aurelius: “If you are pained by an external thing, it is not the thing that disturbs you, but your own judgment about it, and it is in your power to wipe out this judgment now.”

The second is an old Irish blessing. It goes like this:

“May those that love us, love us
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts,
And if He doesn’t turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping.”

Thanks to the rules of The Sentinel-Record, they don’t have to limp, they just sign their names!

Thanks to all those who support me and multiple blessings on those who don’t.

Happy New Year to all!

I responded with a letter that I doubt they will print. I said that since I am an old man with bad knees and a replaced hip I already limp. I also said that I never have wished bodily harm to Carney or any of her followers. I just want her to follow the laws. – it was a rather short letter but it seems that the paper is not printing much involving an attack on the religious nuts. It is clear that this lady is vicious beyond belief and tries to put on the sweet ministers wife front.
